Espace de concertation sur les pratiques d’approvisionnement responsable (ECPAR)

The Espace de concertation sur les pratiques d'approvisionnement responsable (ECPAR) is a unique network in Québec that links together a diverse group of organizations for a common goal: to make procurement practices more responsible and sustainable. Since its creation in 2011, it has been helping to advance the transformation of supply chains through collaboration and knowledge sharing.

This not-for-profit network serves as a partner to professionals in procurement, sustainable development and many other sectors, regardless of their level of experience. It offers concrete tools, customized training and support so organizations can take action. Its strength also lies in its ability to create spaces for exchange, where members learn from each other, and together, develop useful and effective solutions.

The ECPAR team, made up of professionals with a wide range of skills, has a solid grasp of both the challenges of supply chain management and the circular economy and life cycle assessment. It helps facilitate dynamic communities of practice and actively contributes to local, national and international projects.

One of its flagship tools, the Baromètre de l’achat responsable (Responsible Purchasing Barometer), enables businesses to monitor changes in practices, identify levers for action and nurture continuous improvement.

Today, with over 80 members from a wide range of sectors, including energy, transport, health care and education, ECPAR continues to grow. Its mission remains clear: to support the transition to more responsible sourcing, leveraging agility, creativity, collaboration and a genuine desire to make a difference.

ECPAR and Les Produits du Québec

“For the general public, as well as for public and private organizations, it’s important to be able to rely on clear, reliable information about whether a product is local. Les Produits du Québec certification marks guarantee this with third-party validation of the manufacturer’s information.

Local economic vitality is key to the active, resilient communities needed for sustainable development. That’s why ECPAR – Réseau d'organisations pour l'approvisionnement responsable supports the initiative and promotes local purchasing among its members and other players.”
