Sofs was founded in 2008 by Sophie Marcoux, a multi-talented, self-taught designer from Montreal. At the heart of Sofs, Sophie channels her passion and ingenuity into an inspiring mission: to provide artisans a creative space and offer unique, fun, and exciting items for shoppers. Living by her mantra, 'Play, have fun, make stuff… it's good for you!' she deeply believes creativity enhances happiness, health, and resilience.

 

The journey of Sofs has been one of continual growth and exploration. Starting with fabric bags, the business quickly expanded into a diverse range of products including illustrations, t-shirts, fabric collections, cards, and calendars. In 2012, Sophie's exploration into 3D modelling and papercraft ignited a new passion, culminating in the introduction of 3D wooden models in 2018, further diversifying Sofs' creative offerings. This expansion reflects Sophie's boundless curiosity and commitment to pushing traditional craftsmanship's limits.

A former competitive skier, tree planter, and psychology graduate, Sophie has boldly forged her own path. She has been a fulfilled and sober mother for over twenty years, infusing her energy and passion into every creation.

Sofs has been a Les Produits du Québec program member since July 2024, with several of its products receiving the Designed in Québec certification mark.
