ABOUT
Céramique Hugo Didier, founded in Montreal in 2005 by Hugo Didier, uniquely blends tradition with modernity in its eclectic ceramic tableware creations. Descended from a family of potters, Hugo creates contemporary, thought-provoking ceramics that challenge us to reconsider the significance of everyday objects.
Among his collections are “Not Made in China” and “Cé Faitte Icitte,” which encourage reflection on the origins of objects and the artisans behind them. These collections promote awareness of product origins and production conditions while exploring our emotional connections to possessions. Each item is handcrafted and decorated, made from high-temperature-fired Canadian porcelain, ensuring beauty and durability. These ceramics are designed for everyday use and are microwave- and dishwasher-safe.
Addressing concerns about disposable product waste, Hugo has also developed a line inspired by Styrofoam containers typically used in canteens. This series includes ceramic poutine dishes and coffee cups, elevating ordinary items into artistic statements. Céramique Hugo Didier advocates for artisanal craftsmanship and encourages a more mindful, eco-friendly approach to consumption.
