BMR

Groupe BMR is a leading hardware retailer in Quebec. Operating under the BMR, Agrizone and Potvin & Bouchard banners, the company is a subsidiary of Sollio Groupe Coopératif, which includes over 275 renovation centres and hardware stores in Quebec, Ontario and the Maritimes.

 

In addition to its wholesale role, Groupe BMR operates 14 corporate stores, mainly in the Greater Montreal area. Whether cooperatives or independent contractors, BMR merchants voluntarily and freely associate themselves with Groupe BMR Inc. Drawing on their extensive knowledge of building materials and hardware, along with a profound understanding of their markets, they provide tailor-made service to cater to the needs of consumers and contractors alike.

 

The history of Groupe BMR dates back to 1967, when six ambitious men, meeting on Curé-Labelle Boulevard in Chomedey, founded Union Six, which became BMR less than a year later. Marc Rousseau, Bona Major, Georges Bertrand, François L'Espérance, René Lortie and Clément Létourneau believed sincerely in the project and were determined to see it through. That's why they all contributed $2500 each.

 

The cooperative values of honesty, fairness, responsibility and solidarity permeate Groupe BMR's culture. Decades later, and now under the leadership of Alexandre Lefebvre, the company's leaders still strive to make the best decisions every day, for merchants and consumers alike.

 

Embracing community commitment, Groupe BMR has partnered with Children's Wish since 2015, contributing over $200,000 to fulfill the dreams of ill children. This dedication extends beyond commercial roles, strengthening the company's positive impact on Quebec's societal fabric.

 

BMR has been a retail partner of the Les Produits du Québec program since November 2023.
