The Retail Council of Canada (RCC) is the main voice of Canadian retailers, defending their interests through effective communication, advocacy and training. Since its creation in 1963, the RCC has represented over 54,000 retailers, including independent, regional, national and online merchants. Its members sell a wide variety of products, from groceries to drugstore items and general merchandise.
The RCC team, made up of dedicated professionals, supports retailers of all sizes. With offices in Vancouver, Winnipeg, Toronto, Ottawa, Montréal and Halifax, the Council covers the country from coast to coast. The RCC is guided strategically by a Board of Directors made up of seasoned senior executives from some of Canada’s leading retailers.
The RCC promotes the interests of the retail industry through advocacy and communication initiatives that address the needs of its members. It works on behalf of more than 2 million Canadians employed in the retail sector, contributing to the economic health and well-being of communities across the country. As the representative of the largest private labour sector, the Council also works to improve working conditions and future prospects for retailers and their employees.
