Aliments du Québec

Founded in 1996, Aliments du Québec is a non-profit organization created by members of the Québec agri-food industry. Its mission from day one has been to promote the province’s bio-food industry and economy. Through the Aliments du Québec and Aliments préparés au Québec brands, and their organic versions, the organization aims to make Québec food products more accessible and visible to consumers.

With more than 1,700 member companies and more than 25,000 verified products, Aliments du Québec is now a key player in the food industry. The organization is the only program for verifying the Québec origin of organic food products, making it a trusted reference for informed decisions on buying local. Thanks to the Aliments du Québec logos, consumers can easily identify Québec products in grocery stores.

Rigour is a hallmark of the organization. For a product to carry the Aliments du Québec or Aliments préparés au Québec seal, it must meet strict criteria, validated by a thorough verification process. Since its inception, Aliments du Québec has evolved to better meet the expectations of both consumers and producers. In 2009, the organization launched its product identification program in stores, and in 2013, it introduced organic versions of its logos. The following year, the Toujours le bon choix awareness campaign raised the organization’s visibility among the general public. In 2014 and 2016, recognition programs were created for restaurateurs and institutions, respectively, to promote the use of local products in these sectors.
