ABOUT
Solem was founded in 2019 in Hébertville, Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean, by Marie-Hélène Doucet and Mylène Lessard. Born from a desire to create a real difference in people’s lives, the brand offers microfibre products that are practical, durable and attractive. The company is making everyday life easier, all while helping the planet.
Known for its soft and lightweight microfibre suede beach towels, Solem focuses on thoughtful design and meticulous finishing. Thanks to double-sided printing, each towel sports a different look on each side. It comes with a matching pouch that makes it even easier to bring with you. The brand has expanded its range with a kitchen collection. The dish towels are effective and absorbent, dry quickly and don’t leave any odour or streaks.
Beyond its focus on quality, Solem also has the environment at the top of its priority list. The majority of the textiles it uses contain 50% post-consumer recycled materials. The company uses 100% recycled packaging, provides a reusable shipping option and offsets its carbon emissions through Carbone Boréal.
The Solem team is also engaged in the community; since 2024, they have been supporting Leucan, helping to raise funds for children with cancer. A wonderful way to give back, in line with its human values.
Solem in the spotlight
The company has received several awards since its start, including the 2025 Art de Vivre Award. In 2024, it was recognized as a “Nouvel employeur” by the Conseil du patronat du Québec. Solem was also named Jeune entreprise de l’année in 2022 and picked up the ESSOR Award in 2023, presented by the Chambre de commerce et d’industrie Lac-Saint-Jean-Est. It also won the Prix Commerce award in 2021.
