ABOUT
Michèle Courtemanche is a jewellery designer based in the Outaouais region who adheres to a sustainable approach and meticulous artisanship. In her studio, she designs and crafts unique jewellery and special collections entirely by hand. She primarily uses Argentium 935 and 940, a modern precious metal known for its durability, hypoallergenic properties and resistance to tarnishing. Few artists in Québec and Canada work with this material, which gives her creations a rare and sought-after quality. Designed for both women and men, her high-end jewellery is notably for its elegance, lightness and comfort.
Each piece begins with a drawing or prototype, followed by a technical sheet that contains the materials, shape and weight. Michèle then explores the balance between texture, volume and movement. Sawing, shaping, stamping, punching, weaving, hammering or chiseling—she has mastered a wide variety of artisan techniques. Depending on the desired effect, she applies a brushed, frosted, satin, oxidized, patinated or mirror finish. The pieces are assembled by welding, riveting or meshing, ensuring strength and finesse.
