ABOUT
Makeloo Studio is a Québec textile shop that employs artisanal and environmentally-friendly techniques to produce local wool. Through its creation of wool balls made from local fibres, the shop is helping to highlight the diverse range of Québec wools. Each yarn is custom-designed and hand-dyed, resulting in a unique colour and authentic character.
The company places innovation, sustainability and a regional focus at the heart of its approach. Makeloo Studio reduces its ecological footprint and supports local communities by doing its production in Québec and adhering to the principles of the circular economy. The use of natural dyes and respect for the fibres produces high-quality materials; this practice also contributes to the protection of Québec’s textile heritage.
In addition to selling its hand-dyed yarn, Makeloo Studio also offers eco-responsible collaborations with companies and consulting, training and artistic mediation services.

Winner of the Grands Prix Desjardins de la culture de Lanaudière in 2023 and 2024, the company also took first place in Québec Circulaire 2025, with a top 10 showing in the people’s vote.
Makeloo Studio and Les Produits du Québec
Makeloo Studio’s products have earned the Manufactured in Québec certification mark as part of a partnership between the Conseil des métiers d’art du Québec and Les Produits du Québec, launched in December 2024.
“Buying locally is central to our approach: it directly supports farmers, artisans and rural communities, reduces our environmental footprint and promotes the richness of Québec wool. This certification mark also strengthens the strong tie we’ve built over the years with our sheep producers, who have become our partners and friends. Together, we’re creating a complete supply chain, from the birth of the animals to the finished product, based on trust, quality and a sustainable and deeply human collaboration."
