ABOUT
Founded in 2010 in Longueuil, La mosaïque fleurie is an art studio that introduces people to oshibana, the ancient art of painting with flowers. Each work is brought to life using natural flowers grown, picked and pressed by artist and founder Claire Labelle, then carefully assembled on pieces of wood made on-site. With more than 200 varieties of flowers grown each year in La mosaïque fleurie’s garden, nature is the primary source for each creation.
This unique art requires advanced skills in pressing flowers, expert knowledge of botany and meticulous finishing work. Once the flowers have been arranged, several layers of varnish are applied and carefully sanded, preserving the richness of the colours and ensuring durability. The combination of wood and pressed flowers produces delicate, poetic and timeless creations.
Committed to both an eco-responsible and cultural approach, La mosaïque fleurie hosts the public at its urban garden during seasonal tours and workshops. This vibrant place of creation and sharing invites visitors to discover and learn about the craft. The experience is a delicate interplay between floral art, nature and the local community.
La mosaïque fleurie and Les Produits du Québec
La mosaïque fleurie’s products have earned the Manufactured in Québec certification mark as part of a partnership between the Conseil des métiers d’art du Québec and Les Produits du Québec, launched in December 2024.
“I have always believed firmly in the importance of buying Québec products. It’s of course about the economy, but it’s also a way to support fellow Quebecers first. Joining Les Produits du Québec today is just a matter of course.”
