ABOUT
Founded in 2023, HydroTuiles is reviving the centuries-old art of making cement tiles, also known as hydraulic tiles. The company is now the only manufacturer of this type of tile in Canada and the only workshop producing hydraulic tiles in Québec.
At HydroTuiles, each individual tile is handmade using natural ingredients. This artisanal method, which doesn’t require high-temperature firing, is more environmentally friendly than the process used for traditional ceramic tiles. By producing locally, the company also helps reduce the carbon footprint associated with importing materials.
Co-founder and master artisan Ivan Bornes learned his craft in Barcelona, Spain, one of the great historical centres of this art. Inspired by this tradition, he now puts his expertise to work creating unique pieces made here in Québec.
Floral, geometric, classic or contemporary, HydroTuiles offers a wide variety of styles, in addition to a custom option that allows customers to choose their own colours and patterns. Durable, versatile and elegant, these Québec-made tiles are a fine example of local expertise, bringing a creative, authentic touch to floors and walls.
