Founded in Gatineau in 1998, Coutellerie Nomade exemplifies Québec’s quality craftsmanship with its durable knives. Behind each piece is Frédéric Gourd, a passionate artisan knifemaker who has been practising his craft for over 25 years. Trained by master knifemaker Roger Grenier of Saint-Jovite, he has developed his own style over the years, marked by precision, elegance and efficiency.

Coutellerie Nomade gives this everyday item an artistic touch. Years of research, testing and refinement have resulted in stylish knives that offer comfort, performance and quality. Each knife is designed to fit comfortably in the hand, cut with precision and last for years without losing its original beauty.

In the workshop, located in the beautiful Outaouais region, creativity hums and aesthetics and comfortable handling hold equal importance. The care and attention to detail that goes into Coutellerie Nomade knives is evident at first glance. 

 

In 2001 and 2002, Coutellerie Nomade was the local (MRC Papineau) and regional (Outaouais) winner, as well as a provincial finalist in the “Operation/Processing/Production” category in the Quebec Entrepreneurship Contest.

Coutellerie Nomade’s products have earned the Manufactured in Québec certification mark as part of a partnership between the Conseil des métiers d’art du Québec and Les Produits du Québec, launched in December 2024.
